Social 7 - Lesson Plan Archive/Lesson Plans 2019-2020

On this page students may access all daily lessons throughout the school year.  In addition, links to most classroom assignments and daily work will be available for student access and download.  This page will be extremely useful for students who may miss class due to absence or simply to print materials they may have lost.  I provide students one copy of all materials needed in class, if this is lost or damaged students may download and print materials on their own from this page.

Unit Introduction:  Students will review the early foundings of the United States and begin examing the ideas of freedoms and rights and how these are protected in the United States.  Students will discuss the following questions in groups:  (1) What are rights?, (2) What are some rights that you believe you have as a U.S. citizen?, (3) Where do rights come from?, (4) What actions would you be willing to take if your rights were threatened?

Homework:  View Friday’s CNN 10 on your own time.  If students are unable to view this outside of school they may view it on Monday from 7:45-7:55 a.m. in Room 2313.

  2. Analyze and identify the cause and effect of the Industrial Revolution in the U.S.
  3. -Identify new technologies and innovations that transformed the United States 
  4. -Identify and explain three (3) new technologies from this revolution

Students will be watching the Industrial Revolution video and analyzing the cause and effect of the revolution. (CAUSE/EFFECT Slideshow)

Activity: As a class, we will go over the Mill Times film guide.

They will also choose and analyze the new technologies from this time period.

Assignment:  Students should view the CNN 10 News for Friday, November 15, 2019.  Students will have a quiz next Monday, November 18, 2019 covering this weeks current evenst and notes on the Industrial Revolution.
